Every chapter is replayable, only one savegame is needed as you can simply switch the difficulty, so no progression on one difficulty is “wasted”. Collectibles are tracked and you can find them with map awareness without needing a guide. You can figure everything out on your own, just from the trophies descriptions. I’d go as far as saying this list should be the golden standard for Trophies: A healthy mix of progression-, difficulty-, challenge- and collectible-related tasks. The trophylist is very, very well done. It also doesn’t feel like an “unfair” difficulty as you can still take some hits and just retreat. Here on “Authentic” you get the added mechanic of wind, so you have to be way more calculating when taking shots (you have to factor in bullet drop, wind, enemy movement and sound masking), so every successful hit, especially from very far away, feels rewarding. That is nice, usually higher difficulties are just along the lines of “more damage taken”, “less damage dealt”, “more enemies”. The difficulties made for very different game experiences, meaning “Authentic” wasn’t just harder, but forced you to approach the entire game very different, strategically.
I often thought that the devs used the presets they had very clever to end up with intriguing levels that don’t feel repetitive at all. People say they are somewhere in the middle of all the VR games, but I’d rate them above average. The levels are beautifully crafted and the graphics are convincing. The Story is nice and adds to a very authentic atmosphere. The Platinum took me about 15-20ish hours and there is still the option to add to that with mastering more weapons or go for the leaderboards, if you love the game You could rush through easy mode and finish the last mission in about 3-4 hours would be my guess, but that’d be a lot of wasted content. It’s 18 Missions and a gun range with possibly lots of replay value due to leaderboards, challenges and incentive for exploration. Solid length for the price if you don’t rush through everything. My rating of the gameplay and trophylist: If you want to enjoy the game fresh and without SPOILERS, you might want to come back here after you finished your own playthrough.
